Echofon Pro users can receive iPhone push notifications whenever they are mentioned or sent a reply from any other Twitter user.
When you use Echofon, the ID of the last tweet you read is sent to our Push/Sync server.
When you open Echofon on another device, the last read tweet ID is retrieved. This way you are only shown tweets you haven’t read yet, no matter where you read them.
Enter the settings screen for the account you want to set up (tap the Menu button on the navigation bar, tap edit, tap the account) and then tap “Push Notification”. Make sure you set sleep time approiriately. Then tap “Sync with Desktop” to enable sync.
Firefox
Open the Echofon preferences by right-clicking the Echofon logo in the Firefox status bar. Press the “Sync with iPhone” button and follow the instructions to authorize your account on the Echofon Push/Sync server. This server handles the syncing between your computer and your iPhone.
Mac
Open Echofon preferences in the Echofon menu. Under 'Accounts' choose the account you would like to sync and then click on teh 'iPhone Sync' tab. Click the sync button and follow the instructions to authorize your account on the Echofon Push/Sync server.
This process also enables push notifications. This means you will receive a notification on your iPhone whenever you are mentioned in a tweet or receive a direct message. After authorizing your Twitter account you will be prompted to alter these settings.
Echofon for Facebook supports instant push notifications between Echofon for Facebook users when Facebook messages are sent. This requires no setup!
